Show Me is an interactive Whiteboard App that allows teachers & learners to create presentations called Show Me’s that can be shared via the device, online privately or to a community audience. You can create engaging voice over presentations using text, drawing, photos, images and sounds.
You can also access & use Show Me presentations (covering a wide range of subjects) created by others in the Show Me community. The Show Me interactive whiteboard App is a tool with great potential for teaching & learning.
Open the Show Me App. A blank whiteboard should automatically open, but if it doesn’t click Create to start a new Show Me Whiteboard.
This is your blank Show Me whiteboard. To write or draw with your finger or stylus choose a colour from the colour picker and write on the screen.
To start recording sound click the red Record button in the top centre. The sound will record as you write and draw.
You can have multiple pages in your Show Me if you want, just click the right facing Arrow button in the top right corner to move to a new page.
To add a photo to your whiteboard click the Photo icon in the tool bar. This will release a dropdown menu.
Select Choose Photo to add a picture from your camera roll, or Take Photo to take a photo you want to add, or you can select Search Web or choose a picture stored in your Google Drive or Dropbox (if you have them)
You can add text to the page by clicking the Text icon in the toolbar. Then click on the part of the page you want to add text to. This will create a text box on the page. Type your text in the box.
When you add a photo or text to a page the sound recording function will automatically pause. You can re-start it by clicking the record button once you have finished adding the photo/text
You can build up dynamic information on the page with writing/drawing, text and photos as you record your sound.
Use the Rub Out icon to clear your whiteboard or the Eraser icon to just erase the bits of drawings you don’t want.
Click the Plus icon on the drawing colour picker bar to open the advanced colour picker for a wider range of drawing colour palettes.
Click Done to reveal the saving options dropdown menu and choose Save as Draft or Save as Complete to save your Show Me whiteboard.
Now you can Review your Show Me and Save if you are happy with it. You will be prompted to name your Show Me, create a Show Me account and asked to choose a subject category for your Show Me. Follow the instructions on the page.
Now your Show Me is saved you can play it on your iPad, share it on Facebook, Twitter or via email (it will arrive as a link to a web page where it will play as a video).
Your Show Me is now a public lesson that other Show Me users will be able to view.
